The Not So Jewish History of the Indy 500
In an article in the Jewish Daily Forward an aging jew named Seth Rogovoy has claimed to demonstrate – aside from his own cowardly fear of cars and driving in general because he was taken to a few Demolition Derbies as a child – the ‘Secret Jewish History’ of the Indy 500. (1)
Typically for the desperate demi-educated drones that populate the pages of the Forward. This ‘Secret Jewish History’ is in fact woefully lacking in any kind of substance. A third of the article is devoted to unrelated subjects like Demolition Derbies, Rogovoy’s irrational fear of any kind of wheeled transport and talking about non-jewish greats of motor racing.
The rest is devoted to trying to make some kind of connection between jews and the Indy 500. This is sparse at best with the strongest point being three time Indy 500 winning jewish racing driver Maurice ‘Mauri’ Rose (2) and Eddie Sachs who was killed racing in the 1964 Indy 500. (3) The mention of modern Israeli Indy 500 race car driver Alon Day is the last of the actual jewish history.
With Rogovoy seeking to fill out his case with non-jewish – although rumoured to be jewish – driver Peter Revson. (4) As well as Indy 500 co-creator Carl Fisher whose sole link to jewry was his support of jewish politicians and desegregation in the 1960s.
So despite what Rogovoy wants to suggest the Indy 500 does not have any kind of significant ‘secret jewish history’, but rather is a singularly goyische race in a sport that is completely and utterly dominated by non-jews.
