The Myth and Reality of the Jewish Dambusters
Jews have a history of trying to claim they have been and are great warriors. I have dealt with one such example in my article on how the so-called ‘jewish SAS’ the Special Interrogation Group in the North African Campaign in World War II had a myth of their military genius and success spread largely by Arthur Hiller’s 1967 film ‘Tobruk’ – Hiller was himself predictably jewish – and that this was not only a myth but the complete opposite of reality with the Special Interrogation Group being so singularly ineffective and incompetent that it was wound up after only two missions and most of its (almost entirely jewish) personnel were killed by the German military during their second mission. (1)
A similar situation prevails in the history of the Royal Air Force’s Bomber Command during World War II with jews claiming to have been ‘exceptionally brave’ citing the number of jews who ‘served, died and were awarded medals’ (2) which I will dissect in a separate detailed article on jewish participation (or rather the lack of it) during the two world wars. It is also already well known that jews were grossly underrepresented in their participation in the Vietnam War even after conscription was introduced! (3)
Even the most palsied and ridiculous jewish attempts to style themselves as ‘great warriors’ during World War II almost invariably descend into the ridiculous as we can see with Gloria Tessler’s 2018 article in the ‘Jewish Chronicle’ trying to take credit on behalf of the jews for the famous Dambusters raid on the 16th/17th May 1943 (aka Operation Chastise) (4) when she writes how:
‘“The men included two Dambusters who died on the mission, Abe Garshowitz and the gifted artist Jack Guterman, plus some 50 Battle of Britain air crew; many pathfinder and fighter pilots. Over 80 were prisoners of war of both the Germans and Japanese.
Jack Guterman qualified as a wireless operator/air gunner and was posted to 207 Squadron at RAF Bottersford in February 1942, beginning flight operations in June.
He and his crew flew some 19 sorties and he was recommended for a DFM. Throughout his RAF career, Guterman created powerful Expressionist paintings which he hung on the walls of his various postings. In a letter to his sister he described his excitement about his new work, a darkly primitive painting he called Gethsemane. “I get so thrilled about it that I cannot get it out of my mind.”
Gunterman was shot down with his crew in 1943 and died instantly at Hamm, where they were buried by the Germans.
The Canadian Albert Garshowitz was one of a five-man crew training to fly Lancasters. Posted to 57 Squadron, they flew their first operation with their pilot Bill Astell on February 13, 1943. After a number of sorties they were transferred to 617 Squadron in March, but all died less than two months later after colliding with a pylon.’ (5)
Note how Tessler is clearly trying to manipulate and greatly magnify the ‘jewish military contribution’ to the Royal Air Force during World War II by citing ‘50 Battle of Britain aircrew’ and ‘many’ - note the weasel word to imply dozens if not hundreds when she probably can name say ten - ‘pathfinder and fighter pilots’ and… two… mark you two… ‘Dambusters’ or participants in Operation Chastise.
She presents Jack Guterman as a gunner when he was in fact just a wireless operator (6) and Albert Garshowitz as a pilot when he was in fact also a wireless operator. (7) They were not gunners, bomb aimers or pilots as she seeks to imply and thus suggest how they ‘bravely fought the Nazis’ when in reality they were the communications guys in two bombers (Garshowitz in bomber AJ-B and Guterman in bomber AJ-C). (8)
That doesn’t mean they didn’t fight but rather that they were akin to the communications specialist in a command squad. Yes, they might be called on to fight if necessary but generally speaking their role was as a non-combatant and compared to a communications specialist in a command squad – who usually carried normal weaponry - they actually wouldn’t be expected to fight at all just sit on the radio and relay orders/instructions to the other air crew but he was – officially anyway – considered the ‘reserve gunner’ (aka he could be asked to be gunner by the pilot if the bomber was in difficulty and one or more of its gunners was dead or incapacitated). (9)
Thus, in essence neither Garshowitz nor Guterman were ‘front-line fighters’ but rather behind-the-lines troops who could be pressed to serve as emergency gunners by the pilot should there be a real need. They were not the ‘brave jewish flying aces’ pictured by Tessler but rather typically jewish auxiliary behind-the-lines soldiers who weren’t ‘fighting Nazis’ with ‘guns in their hands’ but rather ‘fighting Nazis’ with proverbial fountain pens and typewriters while leaving the actual fighting to non-jews.
So no despite the attempt by Tessler to claim otherwise: jews were in no way remotely responsible nor significantly involved in the success of the Dambusters raid (aka Operation Chastise) which killed 476 Germans (with 69 missing) and 593 French/Dutch prisoners of war and Dutch/Ukrainian labourers (with 156 missing) (nearly all of whom were non-combatants and/or civilians) and would possibly be now considered a war crime.
