The Israeli Hand in the Assassination of Ahmad Issa Habib

When Ahmad Issa Habib – a senior member of Syria’s intelligence community – was assassinated in the village of Baarin – west of the city of Hama – on 18th August 2018. People immediately began to suspect that this was yet another assassination orchestrated by Israel’s intelligence agency Mossad. (1)

After Aziz Azbar – one of Syria’s top scientists involved in the country’s now defunct chemical weapons program – was killed in an attack that has all the hallmarks of an Israeli hit and was quickly attributed by both anti and pro-Israel outlets to the Mossad. (2)

Fadi al-Batsh – a member of Palestinian militant group Hamas and allegedly a key missile scientist for the group – was assassinated in similar circumstances in Malaysia in April 2018 in what is suspected to be another Mossad hit.

There is reason to suspect Habib was also murdered by the Mossad since he was killed in a deliberate assassination and was a ‘person of interest’ to the Israeli government given that he was in charge of Syrian intelligence’s operations in and around Israel. (4)

I mean who else would want him dead but Israel and no other major player – such as the United States or Russia – has any reason to what Habib dead let alone the ‘on-the-ground’ resources to successfully carry out such a hit.

Therefore it is likely that Ahmad Issa Habib is yet another victim of the Mossad’s attempt to terrorize the enemies of Israel into submission.
