Back in the summer of 2016 a graphic video of Rabbi Moshe Hirsch Klein of the Satmar Hasidim's lower cheder (i.e., primary/junior school) in Kiryas Joel in New York State abusing an eight year old Hasidic boy has emerged.
Naturally enough next to no media outlet picked up the story with the singular exception of the 'New York Daily News'. (1)
The reported details of the full video are as follows:
'The footage from an overhead camera shows the educator sitting directly in front of the young boy, who at one point clasps his hands over his pelvic area. At the end of the encounter, the school staffer opens the desk drawer, gives the child a candy, grabs the boy’s arms and then appears to put them near the man’s crotch, the video shows.
The school worker also seems to be kissing the child on the face for several seconds.' (2)
The uproar from this video has caused the school in Kiryas Joel to promptly sack Rabbi Klein. (3) Although this was not before the authorities within the Satmar Hasidim openly defended Rabbi Klein's paedophilia with the probable help of an external public relations firm. (4)
They naturally claimed that Rabbi Klein had 'done nothing wrong'. However that he has done wrong is beyond doubt given the video of the incident clearly demonstrates he was engaged in sexual behaviour towards a child in his care.
Unfortunately it looks like authorities have caved into Hasidic political pressure as has happened so many times in the past (5) as no charges were ever pressed - or at least I can find no mention of any - despite the obvious video evidence indicating at much (6) and his own community viewing it that way. (7)
One rule of jews and another for gentiles: right?
