J.K. Rowling and Anti-Semitism in ‘Harry Potter’
J.K. Rowling is a weird creature.
She is either a champagne socialist (1) or a liberal (2) depending on who you ask.
Critics have accused her of being everything from being a quasi-fascist (3) to a so-called transphobe. (4)
Yet this is a woman who retroactively makes her own characters homosexual (5) in direct contradiction of her own stories (much to the chagrin of her own fans) (6) as well as retroactively modifies her own character’s racial origins, (7) but this has never ever been enough (8) for her own political bedfellows as they continually claim she is ‘tone deaf’ (9) to their increasing levels of lunacy in their attempt to re-write everything and concern troll her to death in their out-of-touch magazines (10) and news outlets. (11)
This normally wouldn’t concern us too much beyond a casual chuckle as we watch a transsexual trans-racial trans-human Nero fiddle with kiddies while Rome burns around him.
Long-time nationalists like myself are hard-bitten hard-fighting foes of everything that Rowling and her erstwhile critics on the left believe in and they avoid us like the plague because they know all too well that they’ll not only get a punch to the face, but their ears bitten off too.
This is what the neo-conservative political philosopher James Burnham was talking about when he pointed out in his 1986 ‘Suicide of the West’ that the left has a ‘violent hatred’ of National Socialism but not conservatism because National Socialism does something about them and their sexual and ethnic minority pets rather than just talking about it like conservatism likes to.
Having shrieked about Rowling’s alleged ‘racism’ and ‘transphobia’ as well as having accused her of ‘quasi-fascism’ as well as oddly ‘upper-class snobbery’ and got practically no-where other than looking stupid to the world a large. They have invented a new charge or rather the jewish comedian and TV personality Jon Stewart (nee Jonathan Leibowitz) has in the form of alleged anti-Semitism.
‘Russia Today’ writes how:
‘Former US talk show host Jon Stewart has slammed J.K. Rowling for her use of imagery he says is “anti-Semitic,” claiming the Harry Potter franchise’s goblin banker characters resemble Jewish caricatures.
In a recent edition of his podcast ‘The Problem with Jon Stewart’, the comedian claimed it was “so weird” that people had not realized and reacted to J.K. Rowling’s use of “anti-Semitic” imagery in her characterization of Harry Potter’s bankers.
Stewart suggested that the goblins who run the underground Gringotts bank resemble an illustration in an anti-Semitic book from 1903, entitled ‘The Protocols of the Elders of Zion’.
In a rambling monologue, the American comedian appeared to suggest that Rowling was probably aware of the 1903 work and wanted to incorporate the “anti-Semitic” imagery into her children’s book.
“J.K. Rowling was like, ‘Can we get these guys to run our bank?’ It’s a wizarding world… we can ride dragons, you can have a pet owl… but who should run the bank? Jews,” he said.
Stewart said he was surprised that no one else had thought the same when watching the movies.
“It was one of those things where I saw it on the screen and I was expecting the crowd to be like, ‘Holy shit, [Rowling] did not, in a wizarding world, just throw Jews in there to run the f**king underground bank,” he continued.
The former TV host is not the first person to liken the Gringotts bankers to anti-Semitics works. Children’s author Marianne Levy, writing for the Jewish Chronicle in 2019, claimed Gringotts screenshots would not appear out of place among a series of cartoons from Nazi Germany’s Der Sturmer.
Rowling herself has been accused of anti-Semitism in the past, with some claiming the pure-blood world of magic is clearly inspired by the Nazis.’ (12)
So let me break this down clearly: two jews (Stewart and Levy) have accused Rowling of ‘anti-Semitism’ based on the film adaptations (not the books mind you) because the Gringotts bankers are goblins and goblins apparently look like jews.
Well Stewart and Levy said it not me.
They think that jews look like stereotypical goblins especially if said stereotypical goblin handles money. That is a bit like claiming H.G. Well’s ‘The Time Machine’ is anti-black propaganda because it styles the Morlocks as being black-skinned and the blonde-haired and blue-eyed Eloi are examples of European perfection and virility.
It isn’t true of course but then it’d be really funny if the avid opponent of the Third Reich H. G. Wells got cancelled because his books could possibly be construed as ‘Nazi propaganda’ in the same way that Stewart, Levy and their horde of race and gender-fluid myrmidons are construing the black supporting sodomite worshipping Rowling as being some kind of ‘neo-Nazi anti-Semite’ because of a film interpretation of her books.
The irony is delicious.
