Laurence Fox is an English actor best known for his portrayal of Detective Sergeant James Hathaway in ITV’s hit spin off of the ‘Inspector Morse’ franchise ‘Lewis’ between 2006 and 2015. In recent years he has become a frequent commentator on British politics after standing up for himself and losing his acting career after he was attacked for his ‘whiteness’ on the BBC’s long-running British political program ‘Question Time’ in January 2020 and which he referred to (correctly) as ‘racist’ only to get almost completely de-platformed afterwards. (1)
Fox’s ‘whiteness’ however has been questioned by some since it turns out he actually has known jewish ancestry as ‘EthnicCelebs’ details:
‘He is the son of Mary Elizabeth Piper and actor James Fox (born William Fox).
His ancestry includes English and one eighth Channel Islander [Jersey]. One of his paternal great-great-great-grandmothers, Julia Keering/Keeling/Keesing, was a Dutch Jew, and another of his paternal great-great-great-grandmothers, Sophia Susan Levein, was of Sephardi Jewish descent. His father also has a smaller amount of Scottish and Irish ancestry.’ (2)
Since Fox has two great-great-great-mothers who were jewish – not just one – then that makes him 1/16th jewish and thus not jewish in terms of either the Israeli law of return or halakhah.
This is ironic in large part because the ‘Jewish Chronicle’ and other jewish organizations have openly branded Fox as ‘anti-Semite’ (3) even though it is complete and utter nonsense.
However, while Fox’s ancestry is not significantly jewish; the fact that he has openly admitted to having – and is clearly proud of his – jewish ancestry is a warning signal that Fox is likely to – and will continue to – serve jewish interests about those of Great Britain.
