Hoax Confirmed: Chargrilled Chabad (2024)
On Saturday 9th March 2024 a dangerous anti-Semitic hate crime occurred in Fort Lauderdale, Florida when Rabbi Chaim Slavaticki’s (of the Las Olas Chabad Jewish Center) van was deliberately set on fire and promptly totally barbequed before the Fort Lauderdale Fire Department were able to put out the flames.
Jews naturally began their customary shrieking about ‘rising anti-Semitism’ with Michael Starr of the ‘Jerusalem Post’ shrieking that:
‘The Florida Las Olas Chabad Jewish Center was ravaged by a fire in an act of arson early Saturday morning, causing damage to the synagogue, Hebrew school, and community center, Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue, Fort Lauderdale Police Department, and Las Olas Chabad said.
Security footage showed a man placing what appeared to be a flammable substance into the grill of a minivan parked outside the center. The arsonist, in custody and identified by the Fort Lauderdale Police Department as Scott Hannaford, 50, had attempted to set fire to other objects outside the center, including what appeared to be an electrical box. Fire Rescue said on Saturday on social media that the fire leaped from the vehicle to the building.
Hannaford had come prepared with materials needed to commit arson, and it did not seem a crime of opportunity but a targeted attack, Las Olas Chabad codirector Rabbi Chaim Slavaticki told The Jerusalem Post on Monday. His belief was informed by previous interactions with the alleged arsonist.
“It’s not just an attack on the community, it’s an attack on the entire city and the Jewish people,” said Slavaticki.’ (1)
But just days later the wheels rather came off the ‘anti-Semitic hate crime’ narrative after the Fort Lauderdale Police Department were surprising uncooperative with jewish agenda and didn’t listen to the shrieking but preferred to concentrate on the facts.
Thus the ‘Jewish News Syndicate’ reported that:
‘Police in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., do not suspect a hate crime but say that a suspect intentionally lit a van belonging to a Chabad rabbi on fire on Shabbat.
Officers arrested Scott Hannaford, “a transient resident of Fort Lauderdale” whom police say “appears to suffer mental illness and has been trespassed from the property before,” NBC 6 South Florida reported. It added that police are calling the fire an isolated incident that it doesn’t consider a hate crime.
The suspect faces two arson counts in connection to the fire at Las Olas Chabad Jewish Community Center, as well as a charge of criminal mischief and one of cocaine possession, NBC reported.
The rabbi said that security camera footage showed the man attempting to light the building on fire unsuccessfully hours before Shabbat-morning services, before igniting the van. He said the fire from the van spread to the building.’ (2)
So basically Scott Hannaford – apparently a local homeless crackhead – decided to torch the Las Olas Chabad Jewish Center for reasons unrelated to it being a jewish religious building and failing that Hannaford achieved rather more success in torching Rabbi Chaim Slavaticki’s van instead.
I rather think Rabbi Chaim Slavaticki is now sitting in his office with rotten egg on his face after his ‘anti-Semitic hate crime’ turned out to be the work of Florida man than a follower of Henry Ford.
