According to ‘Australian Jewish News’ there was another ‘anti-Semitic hate crime’ at the famous Bondi Beach near Sydney, Australia during July 2024.
They explain how:
‘Waverley Council swiftly removed an unauthorised piece of pro-Palestinian graffiti from Bondi Beach over the weekend.
Waverley Councillor Leon Goltsman told The AJN that by the time members of the public reported the graffiti, the council were already aware and had begun organising to paint over it that same day.
“I’m really proud of the great work of our officers on the ground, our staff and the community who are not turning a blind eye to these sort of things,” Goltsman said.
“We need to continue speaking up and taking a stance. What’s good about it is it wasn’t just the Jewish community who stood against it, it was the broader community as well – a lot of non-Jewish people are also against those kind of actions.”
Goltsman said staff, councillors and officers on the ground are continuously on the lookout and take such actions extremely seriously.
“Our council is really showing a step in the right way,” Goltsman said.
The painting popped up on the Bondi Beach graffiti wall next to the Matildas mural.
Artists are required to submit applications to paint a mural and the council allocates spaces based on merit and community involvement.’ (1)
The problem with the above ‘anti-Semitic hate’ narrative peddled by Goltsman and ‘Australian Jewish News’ is really two-fold in that Goltsman – who is proudly jewish and a strident Zionist to boot – (2) is first implying the graffiti on the wall was ‘anti-Semitic’ using the weasel words ‘continue speaking up’ and ‘taking a stance’ while explicitly referencing the jewish community and then claiming – without any evidence – that ‘a lot of non-jewish people are also against those kind of actions’ with the implication that the graffiti at Bondi Beach is both an ‘anti-Semitic hate crime’ and also that said allegations are supported by ‘a lot of non-jewish people’.
The issue with Goltsman claim is highlighted when we simply reproduce a photo of the graffiti concerned:
Now having seen the graffiti concerned we can clearly see that it isn’t ‘anti-Semitic’ in any way, shape or form and is simply a rather muted pro-Palestinian political mural protesting against Israeli conduct against the Palestinians and likely the Gaza strip specifically.
Secondly Goltsman’s rationale is not why the graffiti was removed and painted over. The reason is actually buried at the bottom of the ‘Australian Jewish News’ article, which states that:
‘The painting popped up on the Bondi Beach graffiti wall next to the Matildas mural.
Artists are required to submit applications to paint a mural and the council allocates spaces based on merit and community involvement.’ (3)
In other words: the real reason the graffiti at Bondi Beach was removed was absolutely nothing to do with its political nature and entirely because it appeared on a graffiti wall which the local council allocates spaces on so that graffiti artists can create their art and isn’t for use by just anyone with a can of spray paint.
Scratch yet another ‘anti-Semitic hate crime’ hoax.
