Debunking the Third Reich ‘Freemasonry Pillar’ Photo
Fairly recently I got shown a photo of a pillar during the Third Reich which was alleged ‘proved’ that the Third Reich was not thoroughly opposed to Freemasonry and after some digging by myself and others. Another Twitter/X user managed to figure out what the symbol was and full credit for the discovery belongs to them not myself as I am simply writing it up for posterity.
Since this is often used as a distraction/gotcha argument by jews and their supporters who seek to undermine the credibility of National Socialism and the Third Reich; I thought it poignant to address it here.
The photo concerned is from a Deutsche Arbeitsfront (German Labour Front) event in 1934 possibly in either Erfurt or Leipzig as identified by the DAF logo on the pillar and the unique swastika design used in all three instances.
The controversy surrounds the second logo down which looks similar to the famous compass symbol associated with Freemasonry which it was alleged to be:
The problem with this argument is that this ignores the other three symbols on the pillar which are clearly nothing to do with Freemasonry, but probably reference (from bottom to top respectively): Forestry, Manual Labour and Building/Construction.
We know this because we know what the second from top symbol actually is: the symbol of German Carpenter’s Guild.
When we compare this symbol to the one on the DAF pillar in 1934: we can clearly see they are very similar. Since the symbol on the DAF pillar clearly has both the carpenter’s square and the carpenter’s shaving took shown. While it does indeed share the compass with the Freemasons: it is not a ‘symbol of Freemasonry’ but rather a German guild symbol.
Further if we read this pillar symbolically then we get:
Forestry -- > Manual Labour -- > Carpentry -- > Construction/Building
Or put in more direct ideological context we should interpret the message as: National Socialism is the connection of the trades and in harmony with nature. So, the foresters plant the trees and harvest the wood, while the manual labourers work hard and prepare the ground and the foundations for the construction then the carpenters shape the wood into useable planks and beams which then builders use to construct a house/building.
In other words, it is actually a clever symbolic metaphor for the mission of the DAF to bring the classes and trades of German together to work for the common good of all and that when we are divided then we are weak, but when we stand united, we are strong.
So, no: this photo has absolutely nothing to with Freemasonry!
